Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Project Humanity e.V., Lang Str. 40, 63486 Bruchköbel, Germany, represented by its board (chairman: Ephraim Eldali). Email: info@project-humanity.org.
Your rights
You have the right at any time to access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, contact info@project-humanity.org.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (in our case the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information).
Hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). When the pages are accessed, Netlify processes technically necessary server log data (IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type) for the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For transfers to the USA we rely on the EU standard contractual clauses.
Encryption (SSL/TLS)
For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
Database
Donation and membership data is stored in a database provided by Turso, operated in a data centre within the EU (Ireland, Amazon Web Services).
Donations via PayPal
For donations we use PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg). Before payment we collect the donor details you enter (salutation, title, first and last name, optional company, email address, optional phone number, postal address) as well as the amount and the chosen campaign. We process and store this data to handle the donation, for the confirmation email and for a later donation receipt.
When you click the PayPal button, PayPal JavaScript is additionally loaded and payment data is transmitted to PayPal, which may involve a transfer to third countries. The legal basis is the performance of the donation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest (lit. f). Donation records are kept for up to 10 years for tax and commercial-law reasons.
Email delivery
Confirmation and notification emails (e.g. the thank-you email after a donation or the acknowledgement of a membership request) are sent via the provider Brevo (EU). Name and email address are processed for this purpose.
Contact and “Become a member”
If you contact us via the “Become a member” form or by email, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optional phone number and message) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no analytics or tracking cookies and does not embed any external analytics services. Fonts are served locally from our own server, with no connection to third-party servers. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website or the services used make it necessary.
